Many people don't realize this but this is exactly why the US seems to ignore bitcoin, they are only focused on legalizing and controlling stablecoins.

The US does not ignore Bitcoin. The SEC has approved Bitcoin ETFs, BalckRock and Fidelity are fully involved in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is being discussed to serve as a reserved soon.

This has to do with use cases. Stablecoins are mostly used worldwide for crypto transactions and due to their less volatile unlike other cryptocurrency they are acceptable by several by several platforms as a payment tool.
