But how is their luck bad? If it was about bad luck, it wouldn't be that bad for them, but they have consistently played bad games throughout the whole season in the EPL and that was barely due to bad luck. I think every team has its bad moments and probably bad luck moments, but what Manchester United has done in the last 10 months was just not good enough.
Their transfers were bad, their coach was bad, I don't have an opinion about Amorim because he didn't really do much thus far and could not improve the team until now. I know taking over a bad team is tough when the club is ambitious and wants the new coach to make the best out of it of course, but Manchester United was done already.
I am curious how much they are willing to spend on new players this season, but if they want to attack next season, several changes have to be made.
It takes lots of guts to take over a team that's actually playing win one game, draw two games and lose three games before winning again. That was the situation Manchester United found themselves and Amorim left his winning Sporting side in Portugal to England to catch a depleting team. That's enough guts for me, yes the team ended up badly but for the benefit of doubts I personally didn't judge him because he didn't start with the team and didn't also buy the players.
I think coming to Manchester United for Amorim was a big opportunity for him, and he couldn't resist the big opportunity, but then, haven managed the team to this point, a near relegation situation for Manchester United, he should be bold enough to tell the Board that they need to open their purse to get specific players, no doubt that the current players weren't bought by him, and he has so far managed them to this point of not qualifying for any European tournament next season, but
this time around he needs to get his own guys so we can see a better united team.
At least the Board should understand that This near relegation situation they found themselves in
the just concluded season is not in the best interest of the club because it scares away investors, investors want to see you perform in European competitions.
