As others already have written you should be not care about what other Users say or write how you handle your Merits to others.
There is a reason that you got an Merit Source and you should give the Merits how you want , if you think a post or topic is worth a Merit just do it.

You can't please everyone, and that's okay.
Dont let the things getting to close to you , do your thing and the rest of the Trolls and maybe haters dont care about it.
I agree with this sayings over here. It's normal for more eyes to be on merit sources more than the average user and it's as though some people are literally waiting for you to make a mistake so they can finally say you are unworthy and undeserving of the position.
It's normal that issues like giving merit to an account that suddenly awoke is not taken lightly but I think that those who are calling you out have made some errors or two too.
Just do your thing and let people be people.
