at asiska02 it is a job and sources do not get paid to do it. so some just dump merits and some hoard merits.

I am only human they are times I am far to busy to read for hours to give merits and the merits end up stacking.

At your age, if you still read for hours before getting to merit a post, then all post merited are worthy of earning some from you. You must be a good reader when younger because the young ones nowadays don’t get encouraged to sit down and read for hours, they’re more inclined to the action than the theoretical understanding of what they’re engaging in.

Thank you.  I am older 68 and semi retired so I have more time to read posts than many others do.  But it really takes a lot of time to read them. Plus to decide when and if I should drop a merit or 2 or 3.

Okay, I’m curious to know if getting older gives you more ample time to spend reading or it’s just your hobby from onset and you can’t do without it most of the time. I know older people like you around that are more focused on discussing more about politics and governance at their age more often and also reflecting more about their past in their places of relaxations or chambers. They don’t like to read because they see it as the thing of the young ones at the age they are that time.

Let me butt in and correct your thinking about older people a little. Although I have quite a long time until retirement, working with older people, I have realized one thing: that they sometimes fall into two types: those who become grumpy and bored in old age, saying that the sky was bluer, and the water was wetter before, while others have such wisdom that by communicating with them, you can get very good guidance on your future life, listening to their advice. They also have an irrepressible passion for reading, since in their time there was no Internet, social networks, or other crap that today's youth is busy with, taking only the tops of information since there is no desire to read more carefully and more. They had books that did not provide immediate results but required careful analysis.

Saying all this, I see in some of our users both their age and their wisdom, and I am very grateful that such people are with us.

I think that merit sources must be able to not only read, but read thoughtfully and a lot, and in no case have clip thinking.
