Let the processes flow naturally and there is no need for "a more intentional public awareness campaign".
Bitcoin does not grow by itself. It has been promoted by early adopters. Bitcoin does not market itself, it was marketed by the company that integrated it. Without the early adopters that market Bitcoin, without these exchanges that integrate Bitcoin and market it so that their userbase grows, Bitcoin won't be known by people.
Let us never forget, Bitcoin is just a code, it cannot market itself unless people purposely talk about it. Bitcoin is popular right now not because it sells itself, but because the people behind it work tirelessly to promote it.
If we go back to how early adopters tell their story about promoting Bitcoin to their relatives and friends, and how people set up faucets and pay for ads to promote those faucets. Without these people, who knows where Bitcoin would be now? Oh and never forget how the first purchase of Bitcoin was made. It was not Bitcoin that made the purchase but it was a person that made a purchase with Bitcoin that brings a milestone for Bitcoin history and opens the path for Bitcoin to be used as currency in real life.
But for sure, I agree that there is no need for this coordinated Foot Soldier to promote Bitcoin, the thought of people giving hands out and flyers will just only pollute the surroundings, people who are not interested will just throw this hand-out away littering on the street. Besides, online advertising is way more effective since it can reach any point of the earth that has an internet connection. Forget about those who have no internet connection, they can't use Bitcoin anyway.
I can see reasons with you why there might not be really active foot soldiers as online advert is still a good means. But some persons claiming bitcoin never needed any form of advert and awareness sounds somehow
Think about other Altcoins that haven't had the exposure yet, they are steadily pushing out and advertising.
Even Elon had to take doge with him wherever he went to just to spread awareness.
