We have too many senior members hiding behind newbie alt accounts in order to post some topic meant to smear someone's name or create a new project, which may or may not turn out to be a complete scam in the future.
Does this not go to show that the problem is not newbies if higher ranked users disguise as newbies to do things like that? They can always find their way around any restriction to that and actual well meaning newbies will be frustrated by those restrictions.

A system that is easily exploited, will be exploited. The point is to make exploiting it harder, rather than pointing fingers at those who are responsible for doing the exploitations. And it is not always the senior members but mainly the people who wish to abuse the system for their own goals (which would be frowned upon by the Bitcointalk community).

Newbie accounts are interesting for scammers mostly. Not that anyone with any common sense and a working knowledge of how the forum works would be duped by a newbie account... The point is that the account itself is a kind of "proof of work". A newbie account has no effort put into it, and therefore can be easily tossed aside. That is the part we need to focus on making non-exploitable.
