I won't pretend that I don't see these lapses too. Still, be clearof one thing, the merit sources are human beings, and anywhere human beings are given the responsibility and power, you will certainly see human nature playing out. Some don't care about what you write if you are not in their good book.

I think the desire to be a source of merit for many seems not quite balanced with how big a responsibility it is. Reading posts for days, and we must understand that reading should be attentive, skipping spam (a lot of spam and repeated posts), and choosing something useful is a rather boring activity. Looking for grains in a heap of chaff is not to say that it is a pleasant pastime. That is why many old merit sources, having had enough of empty and low-value posts, asked to write to them in private messages or created separate topics for evaluating user posts.

How much time does it take to keep up with everything?

The small power of owning merits, one way or another, brings its responsibilities. I think many of us would like merit sources to have an all-seeing eye and to look through posts across the entire forum, as was done before.

You can also check how long the ardor of the desire to be a source of merit will be in the newly elected ones so that the posts are really read, and the merits are distributed not only because they urgently need to be spent before the end of the month. Smiley

no one has the time to keep up with everything.

and we have quite a few languages I doubt anyone can do all languages  that are here.

English*
Arabic*
Indonesian
Spanish*
Chinese*
Croatian
German*
Greek
Hebrew*
French*
India
Japanese
Italian*
Dutch
Naija
Korean
Phillipines*
Polski*
Portuguese*
Russian*
Romanian*
Skandinavisk*
Turkish

24 or 25 different languages .

So I could get 13 Translators (personal friends ) plus english and do more than anyone.

But that would be a huge commitment

I * the boards that I could have translated by people I trust.

In other not to have related challenges like this was part of what i think prompted theymos to consider these recently approved merits sources, because if you can look well, you will discover they were mostly from a local board and this will practically help each local board to engage more in activities and enables its committed members have enough sources who could distributes merits to their deserving post found worthy to be merited.

Also, another consideration in this regard is that a source may not have to use a particular pattern in giving out the merits, if you couldn't find enough merits worthy posts convincing to you that they deserve to be merited, you can only choose to give one or two you have found out to be quality post amidst other posts.

Lastly, i want to believe that if everyone of us continue to post under local board, there may not be more engagement in the English boards, so for those finding it difficult to translate a local board post or comprehend their language, we can also consider merit worthy posts on bitcoin discussion board, beginners and help economics as the case may applies to other boards.
