In the first about 40 overs, Bangladesh were searching for wickets and Taijul Islam took a single wicket. Bangladeshi captain gave him multiple times, till 35 overs he delivered 15 overs out of them while the other bowlers delivered about 6 to 7 overs. However, at that time, they were struggling badly for wickets.
Taijul Islam, one of Bangladesh's leading spinners, is currently bowling the most overs in Tests. However, Taijul Islam got a wicket early on but later on, Taijul Islam did not get any wickets. However, the way the batsmen were dismissed towards the end of Bangladesh's first innings made it seem like Sri Lanka might suffer a batting disaster, but Sri Lanka did not suffer a batting disaster and was batting relatively better than Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka made a very good come back. I was not believing this from them, but they truly changed everyone's perception. So now Sri Lanka is trailing the score by just 127 runs. They can chase it by tomorrow.
Firstly, they should try to get the lead of at least 150-200 runs, and then when they come to bowl, try to get early wickets just like they did in the previous innings, but also have to put pressure on the middle order batsmen. Now the problem is that there are not many days left, so they may face challenges in getting the result in the first test.
