I doubt we'll see much over time. It seems like the forum administration is helping certain people milk it for all the profit that can be made and that bitcointalk's clock is limited, rather than there being a focus on doing things that will help it thrive.

Satoshi would not be proud of where this forum is today, I am certain of that.
The forum fits into the narrative of regulation implemented by governments, especially by the US government. Aside from the mixers that have been kicked out, after closing eXch, I'm not sure how many real no-KYC services there are right now. It is certainly very far from the basic idea of Bitcoin.

I disagree with that view, the forum only strictly followed regulation when the mixer hammer dropped. What other reference is there to support it fitting into regulation? I don't believe that it has been made to fit regulations or that is the key driver shaping the forum. To contradict that too, if it really fits into the narrative of regulation implemented by governments, there would be a lot more discussion about building decentralized mixing/privacy protocols (given that regulation now permit this). Though, there isn't.

Decentralized and non-custodial doesn't just mean no-kyc, it means no central party. eXch was a custodial and centralized no-kyc service. It was not decentralized, or non-custodial. That's why they were shutdown. If they were decentralized and non-custodial, they wouldn't have (based on regulation).
