Life is full of risk itself so taking risk is not a bad idea but then it's not just about risk taking but taking calculated risks, their are some risks that are worth taking and their are some things one would do that would be referred to as foolishness. Sometimes, it's even better to take risks and learn from it when you fail.

It's not bad to fail, no one should be scared of failure, most people who are successful currently have made several mistakes and learnt from it, as a human they're what makes you effective cause from those risks you take and failed you'll learn from it. Anyways, risking taking is not bad but calculated risk is more preferable and important.
