Trading can be addictive, but not like gambling. Before someone gets addicted to trading, that trader must be a profitable trader, and since you already have a profitable trader, even if you are addicted to trading, then I will say there is not much trading since you have the knowledge of what you are doing and you are not predicting the market;
Addiction can come in different forms but I think I agree with you, trading is not as addictive as gambling but It still depends on how a person exposes himself to it. I don't think only profits make a person addicted even having series of losses can make a person addicted. When you experience losses it easier for people to decide to chase after their losses which can result to addiction as well.

Yeah you are right, trading is not as addictive as gambling, but I disagree with you that only profitable traders get addicted to trading. Even traders that are always losing can get addicted to trading, after losing some amount of money, some of them will want to win back their lose before they stop trading, but when you are so desperate you will find it difficult to make profits because you won’t settle down to do your analysis properly before entering a trade.
Losers are even the ones that can get addicted easily as they will want to chase after their losses which usually leads to more losses. The desperation of winning back your money is what leads to addiction. it only takes a strong mind to control their emotions and trade or gamble responsibly.
