It is understandable that Liverpool wants a high transfer fee for Darwin Nunez. The club paid £85m for the Uruguayan striker. But they would have to apply some level of caution since his performance has declined to a large extent. The club expected much from him but he didn't play up to their expectations. He should be offered to Napoli at a discounted price. Antonio Conte is desperate to build a team that will defend the Scudetto and also compete in the UCL. They now know that depending on only Lukaku is not ideal.

Napoli seems unlikely to dare to buy Nunez for 85 million from Liverpool, it is too expensive for their transfer budget, his salary is also too high which may make it difficult to reach a deal. Napoli do have the opportunity to recruit Nunez, they will get a big profit from the transfer of Osimhen, but when looking at the performance aspect the price is not at all worth it.

Conte does need additional strength in the front line, expecting everything from Lukaku is certainly unreasonable. Napoli are better off looking for a striker who is more consistent in scoring goals, Nunez in my opinion is not the right player. Liverpool are trying to push Nunez away, because they have spent a large budget to recruit Florian Wirtz.
