It will no problem if @OP say like that. He only concern with his life and how he can continue by surviving in the hard situation. He doesn't need to think the world or other things and focus with his life. There will be people who control all things and citizens just need to think how to survive.
Yeah it is his own view of life so let him be. It is his freedom to choose whatever belief and reaction he has on the events that happens on earth. As long as he don't cause any problem on the people around him, then there is no problem with him following what his belief is.
We can not take our part in the government because we only ordinary people who live in our country. But we can contribute inside our country by helping others and let the government think about how they make their citizens have a better life.
We can take part in the government even if we are ordinary people but most people just don't care while others are afraid of retaliation. Like ordinary people can report corrupted authorities or officials as long as he has a solid evidence. There are more thing we can do than just helping our neighbors but obviously most of us don't want that extra work that may endanger our lives.
We can not blame what @OP think because we have different life and purpose to live. But we need to think about our life than busy to think how the world will continue. It is out of our capacity and expectation so it is better we prepare for anything that may happens so we will be ready for that.
Each person have their own belief, it is his life so he has the right on what path he will take and what things he will concern
themselveshimself. Though I do not think that smart people have the same attitude like @OP since @OP just states how self-centered he is. While smart people know how to balance things.
