The team will never be the same again if they decide to release Brown. With Tatum possibly not playing for the whole of next season, it is Brown that will lead the Celtics. Letting him go would mean they are almost left with no one.
But because of the team's payroll consideration, it is possible to happen. There are rumors that San Antonio and Houston are interested to make a good offer for Brown. If the offer is too good to be refused, a business mindset might prevail over sentiments and fans' clamor.
This make sense because sometimes even there's no Jason Tatum playing they can win, but with unhealthy Tatum and their lineup is already broken, I think this is already the start of the downfall of Boston Celtics, and rise of some new young players' team, OKC Thunder already proved it.
