It's popular doesn't make it the best, trust wallet started well but since the takeover by Binance everything has changed for the wallet. It isn't a recommended wallet because you don't have control when using it. Don't be surprised if your coins gets frozen due to some investigation that you have nothing to do with. From his statement he doesn't know how to use Electrum that's why he said it's not user friendly or is it because Electrum is only for Bitcoin, thats why he said that!? Anyways, instead of overlooking a better wallet (Electrum) for the one that's not very secured cause he feels it's easier to understand, he would've gone to YouTube to research on how to use it, their are lots of videos there that's would help him understand better. Well the fact the current owner of trust wallet was once charged for money laundry, plead guilty and was apprehended by the authorities is enough for people to reconsider the trustworthiness of the wallet, I'm not saying they shouldn't use it but like you said they should consider the amount of funds they save in it.
