So, why not wait for negotiations? Why did Israel not trust the peace process?

It is simple, Israel is afraid of T.A.C.O. . Israel is obviously not willing to put his existance in the hands of the negotiation "skills" of Trump. Nor should the US people IMHO.

isreal was fully willing to see results of a possible peace deal set for negotiations for sunday 15th june
but it was iran that didnt want to wait nor attend sundays meeting

iran declared days earlier it wont be attending, and announced it wanted to build nukes

9th june: iran announced a counter offer peace deal that includes allowing nuclear research and refining
11th june iran announced testing ballistic missiles
11th june iran announced "Every so often it is said that if negotiations fail, it will lead to a conflict."
11th june: iran announced "I declare that in case a conflict is imposed upon us, we will strike our designated target"
11th june: iran cancels the scheduled peacedeal meetup
12th june: iran announced it built and will activate a third nuclear enrichment facility,

Franky, you seem to live in a paralle universe. The negotiations do not start in the dates you mention, they have been going for many weeks, and Israel has seen how Iran played TACO while advancing their programme.

the date i mentioned 15th june was actually a meeting date!!!

the other dates 9th-12th are not meeting dates, but other event dates that caused isreal and US to REACT to iran ACTIONS
for instance on the 11th they declined to meet up on the 15th..

as for the dates of negotiations..
negotiations were going on for 60 days prior to 12th june.. (april 12th-june 12th = 60 days)
trump even gave an extension of two weeks

there were other events but i just mentioned the most reactionary impactful
