Thanks for this enlightening post and i must very well remind myself often and on, that using a short cut to help my situation may be detrimental as such is the case of using virtual numbers that have no strong root and origin
There is nothing wrong in using a temporary virtual number, there are a lot of reasons why people use them, either for OTP verification or for businesses that use dedicated virtual numbernumbers. That said, if you are using a shared temporary number, you don't want to use it for anything sensitive at all, just for throw-awaythrowaway stuff, and if you see stuff like the one in the OP, don't allow your greed to get the better of you, and you're fine.
