No amount of hatred for Trump or improvement in voting systems will ever be sufficient to get people to personally participate in government. Voting once a year is isn't even a start for people to participate in government if they have not properly researched the candidates and researched what the previous candidate has done in office which wasn't appropriate.
Look at Europe, they have better voting systems than the USA, but they fail at respecting people basic human rights to own property, own weapons, and speak freely. Europe is by an authoritarian and hostile place to live in comparison.

The more scientific and honest Heritage Foundation despite NOT being run by libertarians, but rather right wing libertarian leaning people, issues the Index of Economic Freedom, a much more proper scoring system for economic freedoms, and NO country scores over 90 because we live in a prison planet at the moment. Its disappointing that those on the left wing are incapable of recognizing basic human rights to own property. They believe that a mystical hive mind, a concept of religious dogma, somehow is owner of all conscious minds and grants them property as they "deserve".
All humans have the right to own ANY and ALL things, as well proven by the fact the USA government owns 10,000 nukes. The first thing they did when they got a nuke was blow up tends of thousands of civilians... what is to a normal human being considered an act of murder carrying a sentence of life in prison. So if an organization who has murdered 10,000+ people can have a nuclear bomb, then clearly anyone can own any thing by logic of common sense.

Our Amendments lay out human rights and they are being violated right now and if we allow it to happen for whatever false sense of security or wish for superiority...the world will be darker for it.
