Yeah, you are absolutely right, sports betting is almost comparable to trading where research, analysis, studying of chart pattern are ways traders try to determine and predict that direction of an asset in the market, but this does not mean that anybody can't just come and predict anything they like, but by doing this, the person is simply depending on luck to win, and only luck will determine if he or she wins of loses such a trade.

Same with sports betting, the bettor have the choice of simply guessing who would win a match without proper analysis research, only if the bettor is lucky will he win such bet.
But on the other hand, one can choose to use their knowledge, analyze and speculate, research well before coming to a decision of who he thinks will win the match, this does not mean he or she will be 100% accurate, but the chances of winning such a bet is higher.
