Unfortunately, there are many official casino representatives on this forum who have encouraged users from restricted countries to use VPNs to bypass their own geo-restrictions.
Whenever I see one of them making that sggestion, I immediately warn users about the risks of following it.
I completely agree with you, if you don’t have a problem with users from restricted countries accessing your website and using your services, then why have these restrictions in first place?
I have read none from the representative so far from my lurking on the announcement threads that suggest using a VPN to bypass the geo-restriction when the casino officially announced on their TOS that the use of a VPN is prohibited to bypass the geo-restriction (if there is, maybe I am missing something). In case the country is not banned and the user cannot access some games, that is when I read some representatives mentioning the use of VPN.
That's very sad to hear, which casinos are these? does this happen more on lesser knowns or not really? As we've seen platforms pulling out breach of ToS cards to withhold funds and/or deny bets, I'd be nervous to play there—if my place was from one of the prohibited jurisdictions.
I think there is no sane representative to suggest the use of VPN when it is restricted on their TOS to bypass the geo-restriction. It is really suspicious if someone from the representative suggests breaching their contract and I believe this is the tactic of shady casinos to entice users from the banned country then deprived them of the winnings whenever they hit big.
