It is also important to understand that once we get clipped of addiction at the course of loosing self control, returning back to our normal self would be difficult.

Very difficult because what gamers think is addiction isn't similar to what non gamblers see addiction as, most atimes problem gamblers find themselves in the hands of non gamblers. Who may not understand that timing matters in kicking out a conversation with an addict.

Think of a gamer who havehas played by a limitation rule for 3 years before developing problem gambling. Let's say he gamble 3 hours (3pm to 6pm) every day nonstop for 4 years, the body must react if an external tend to intervene in his daily activities. Then the gambler doesn't think he's addicted because he's following a rule and every other player thinks he's fine, but the non gamblers living close to him assumes something is wrong and begin to counsel him. The chaos then kicks in and his loved ones would reply sure we thought as much he's mentally ill. We could go on and on, but the point is that non gamblers should be part of this and also understand how to judge gamblers.
