My bad, I didn't know. I thought it was under Abramovich they started their reckless signing spree. Few days ago, I came across this picture on twitter of Chelsea's dressing room by troll football and it really cracked me up.

Well, if the strategy is working for them, they should go on with it. However, with what happened to Mudryk or should I say how his case is looking, I'd expect them to be atleast smart in handing out these lengthy contracts to new signings.

Quite an entertaining picture. And it is true that Chelsea has a lot of players, and even after they have a lot of players, Chelsea never seems to have enough with the number of players they currently have.

For the data that I currently know, Chelsea currently has a total number of players of 44 players. And what amazes me is that the average age of players at Chelsea is 23 years. Which means Chelsea is really preparing for the long term. And I think so far they have been successful with their strategy. Because apart from being good at getting lots of potential young players. We also know that Chelsea is also good at releasing players to other teams at good prices. Last season Chelsea also managed to release many players. And this season Chelsea have also sold 3 players in the transfer market. And perhaps the number will increase.

When you have a look at squad size EPL, you can find an overview or a table ranking the teams from largest to smallest squad size or vice versa if you want of course.

Chelsea has 44 players like Brighton & Hove Albion, and in comparison to that Everton so far is the smallest with 17 players and the average squad size is around 29-30 players.

Chelsea got 10 more players than Manchester City and 15 more players than Liverpool. Arsenal has 24 players with an average of €46.63m per player while Chelsea players have an average price of €27.35m. That is the status quo, but I don't think they will get into the season with all those players, but let some of them go or sell them.
