Kompany was able to win the Bundesliga last season, and that is what I expected him to focus on more so they could win a trophy. It is even possible that the team that ends up winning next season Champions League may not be one that many people are focusing on. Winning the Bundesliga is the minimum goal for Bayern Munich every season and when it is not going well for him and the mood in the club is negative, winning only the Bundesliga in a season doesn't save him the job as a coach. It does as well boil down to the coaches that are available and could replace him. Bayern Munich didn't have many options and when you think about all the coaches they had like Ancelotti, Guardiola, van Gaal, Flick and some of the greatest coaches of all times, Kompany is not their first choice in my opinion. He has to bring them titles and he will have less excuses when Bayern Munich doesn't win.
