Sri Lanka lost the eighth wicket for 170 runs. Now Sri Lanka has 213 runs. Janith Liyanage is unbeaten on 63 runs. Sri Lanka needs 36 runs in the last 4 overs.
Janith Liyanage had tried so hard, but couldn't finish the game as the way he wanted. A poor shot from him changed the game when he was trying his best to win the match. Bangladesh has hardly managed to win the match. Now there are some excitement left for the last ODI match. The probability is 90%+ for Sri Lanka to win the last match, this is my personal opinion.
The last 10 overs were very exciting. Bangladesh could have won more easily if keeper
Jaker Ali had not missed Janith Liyanage's easy catch from behind the wicket. There were even a few more catches, but since they were not very easy, they could not take wickets and gave Sri Lanka a chance to win.
Liyanage played brilliantly, but in the end he could not keep his patience and got out on a wrong shot. He did not really need to take this risky shot at such a crucial time in the match. However, he may have realized his mistake and is blaming himself for the match loss. I will still say, Liyanage tried his best.
On the other hand, Bangladesh's spin department was successful, especially Tanvir Islam who took a record 5 wickets in his 2nd match of his ODI career. The most surprising thing was Shamim Hossain's bowling. I know him personally as a batsman, but he also did great with the ball today.
These days I see Bangladeshi players suddenly turning the tide of the match because today an irregular player has played a huge role for Bangladesh. For now, this is a consolation for Bangladesh. Also in today's match, the Sri Lankan batsman scored the fastest fifty in men's ODIs at this venue. Overall it must be said that the collapse of Sri Lanka's middle order determined the outcome for Bangladesh in this match it is even true that the hero of this episode was Tanvir Islam.
