Both are actually fun and made for entertainment, but the key difference is this: in sports betting, you’re not betting against the house while in casino games, you are.

Sports betting doesn’t have a built-in house edge the way slots or roulette do. Casino games are purely luck-based, there’s no real strategy that can guarantee consistent wins.

But with sports betting, if you shift your mindset and stop seeing it as just entertainment, you can actually improve over time. Be more rational with your decision-making, and most importantly, learn to control your emotions because that’s where most people fall into the trap.
If you place a bet on a match in a casino, it basically means you’re playing against the casino because if your bet wins, it’s the casino that has to pay you the winnings. If the payout is large enough, it will mean a big loss for the casino. So if you measure losses and profits in terms of wins and losses for each casino, then every time you win, it’s a loss for the casino.

As for the mindset, yes if you initially approach it just for fun, you shouldn’t expect to hit a big win. It will definitely be just entertainment for you. But if you decide to try making money from gambling, your chances will be higher. At the very least, this will change your attitude toward betting right from the start. That’s why in this case, I agree that it can increase your chances of making a profit from betting.
