Xabi Alonso is still trying to rotate his team players to see their specialties or who is good at which position. So that's why he is using Velverda's right-winger position. Like, mainly he is using 3-1-4-2 in which Alexander Arnold will work on the right overlap parallel to Velverda by making a run to help him with crosses towards the box. Now we don't know if Xabi Alonso will use these tactics for the rest of the season or if he is just estimating the player efficiency.
I don't know which formation will be suitable with Xabi's tactic. As far as I know Real Madrid mostly used the formation with 2 wingers.
