Xabi Alonso is still trying to rotate his team players to see their specialties or who is good at which position. So that's why he is using Velverda's right-winger position. Like, mainly he is using 3-1-4-2 in which Alexander Arnold will work on the right overlap parallel to Velverda by making a run to help him with crosses towards the box. Now we don't know if Xabi Alonso will use these tactics for the rest of the season or if he is just estimating the player efficiency.
I don't know which formation will be suitable with Xabi's tactic. As far as I know Real Madrid mostly used the formation with 2 wingers. 4-3-3 is the common formation in Real Madrid. If Xabi will use this formation, he needs 2 right wingers at least. Valverde isn't a winger, his main position is center midfielder. But he also can play as right midfielder or right back in the era of Ancelotti. It is a bit strange if Xabi tries to put him as a winger, especially a right winger. Real Madrid has 3 right wingers, why Xabi must put Valverde in that position?  Cheesy

However, Xabi Alonso attitude towards Rodrigo is not too good, like he didn't want him to be part of his plan for next season. You need to understand that it not a rumor it a legit report....
Yep, it is an official decision that Real Madrid/Xabi lets Rodrygo leaving if he wants to move to a new team. Xabi has 3 right wingers and he probably can't make any decision related to the main player in that position. It may be one of the reasons why Rodrygo is possible leaving Real Madrid. However I think it will also depend on the offer from another team. As far as I know Arsenal is one the team interested in Rodrygo. I guess Real Madrid will accept the offer at least €100m since Rodrygo's market value is around €90m.
