Arteta is not serious. For how many seasons now Arteta can not boast of winning any trophy, so there is a need for them to be serious because Arsenal have brought a lot of disappointment, and when they don't do the needful, I don't think anything will change. Just like you I have also at other times casted all blames on Mikel Arteta for Arsenal's seconds class performance in the EPL for the past three seasons. But then for some reasons I had to also look at the management of the club what they are also doing in their efforts to make the club seriously challenging for trophies by releasing necessary funds to get the required legs for the goal ahead. The only time I can also blame Arteta was in the January transfer where he blatantly refused to sign a top 9 for his team, which would have helped in in last season's title race against Liverpool. Perhaps, he has started seeing his mistakes and is now amending things...

Well as far as the deal haven't been sealed on the striking force which they have lacked I don't think he is regret mode yet although as you said am also a bit skeptical of it's the management of the entire arsenal football club that is supposedly pending to release funds for player signing or Mikel arteta himself, maybe after he has done his calculations and found out there is no need be for the deal then he pulls back because it's so heart breaking seeing this gunners team put in so much effort just to end up as second place even after being ahead for UpTo 2 months in the EPL
