I've heard that it's suspected to be one of Roger Ver's wallets. He used to have a lot of BTC and got some tax evasion charges. It's possible he had to move his old coins to pay taxes he owed.
Anyway, as I always like to repeat. Moving old wallets doesn't mean liquidating them on open market. Even if you decide to sell 1%, you will most likely not hold the rest on a legacy address and move the rest to Segwit. If you're to move old coins it's always a good idea to improve security, get it a hardware wallet and all that.
Also, you also move the coins when you trade OTC, which doesn't involve any market sales. Most large transactions are done this way.
