Names usually have no meaning or significance until we give them. It’s something really common but yet very important when we come into commerce. This usually spans through years of giving true quality and delivering on promises for what you offer.
Celebrities understand the place they stand as influencers and don’t need to wait on companies and brands to feel them out for endorsement deals but rather, use some of that influence to make themselves grow even bigger by launching and selling a product. It’s a smart means to leverage what you’ve got.
It’s the reason why, even without ads as it’s said in the OP, they could still sell out because, their name is the OP and their reputation influences the brand they promote.
The name itself is “empty” at first. It’s what you build into it over time that matters. Nobody is born with a valuable brand, even if they have a famous surname. That meaning comes from showing up, keeping your word, and actually delivering value, day after day. It’s a slow burn, not an instant win. I like how you pointed out that celebrities are just smart about using what they already have. It’s not just “fame” they’re selling, but the trust and expectations they’ve built up. It’s like their name is the warranty for whatever they launch. People don’t even need ads, because the reputation is already the “ad”. And that does come from years of consistency
But what I find interesting (and a bit risky) is how the speed of the internet can make or break that trust way faster now. A single mistake, or even just bad timing, can change the whole meaning of a name overnight

One thing I believe is that everything starts with you and when you don't believe in yourself no one will. This is why those influencers start by building their own brands and they do it consistently cause they know if they don't no one will and just as they keep up to it, they are been seen and heard and that's it so they don't initially needs any ads to be seen. It doesn't matter about your name it's how you presents what you're into to the public that matters that will at the end buy the minds of the public.
It really does start with believing in yourself. If you don’t back yourself, no one else will step up for you. That is where most personal brands are killed before they are even born: people lack confidence in themselves, or need to be given the go-ahead by others to do something big. I prefer the way you mentioned about how you present what you are into. There is a misconception that you must have a fancy name or big connections but at the end of the day it is the energy and consistency you bring and people will notice. Whether you are an influencer or not, you can begin where you are, appear daily, and day by day, persuade people. It is not so much about being famous but about demonstrating that you are real and serious
I grow up in a society where is is believed that "a good name is better than riches", although that mindset have changed a lot lately since people now see only money as the measure of success. Nevertheless, name still open doors, bring favor and still make things to happen. This is why it is important we work on our names, build reputation ab allow it be known for something.
Brilliant perspective. I can totally relate with that saying. Although the world is more money-crazed than ever, a good reputation is still a strong force. People sometimes forget that the true opportunities (trust, friendship, even unexpected support) are still based on having a name people respect, not a fat bank account
Money can get you a long way but a good name can get you places that money can never buy. In business or even in everyday life, individuals tend to remember those who treated them well, those who delivered on their promises, or those who stood by something real. And yeah, sometimes it takes longer, but like you said, letting your name stand for something can pay off way beyond numbers
