Therefore, always verify  you’re on the official website, don’t just assume , verify to the last character of the URL..
That has saved me a lot of times. I don't neglect checking url if I've it spelt out or in my head.
Sorry, but I don’t think this is good advice.
Checking that the first and last characters are correct might make sense if we were talking about a Bitcoinbitcoin or some other cryptocurrency address, but it won’t be helpful or save you from falling victim to phishing websites.
For Bitcoin addresses, for example, it requires a lot of computational power to create a phishing address that has the same first and last few characters as the genuine one. But but, unfortunately, this is not the case for URLs.
So, I would advise checking every single character when it comes to URLs.
