I think it starts with money management. For example, if someone doesn't know how to judiciously manage their bankroll or the money in their banks account, even if they are spending just 1 hour at the casino, it's very possible that they can spend a very huge amount, meanwhile someone that has spent even 3 hours might not have gambled off the amount they that lasted just for 1 hour has already spent thousands of dollars. I might be gambling for 3 hours and just spend $200, while someone that is just starting has already lost $2k or more, there situations like that.
