I dont know how many of us have come across the news today. An African DM (Defensive Midfielder) who plays for the Ghanaian National team and an Ex Arsenal player has been allegedly charged by the Metropolitan Police with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, against three women between 2021 and 2022 with evidence claimed the accuser. He is said to appear before the court on August 5, 2025 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Whats your say on this guys?
I stumbled upon the sad news concerning our African brother a few days ago on Sky Sports, and I feel sorry for him because I know he's in for a long ride, and this could ruin his reputation and take away what he has suffered to achieve for so many years if he's found guilty. Our African brother should be very careful with women in any European league they find themselves in because this same rape issue ruined Benjamin Mendy's career at Manchester City.
the fact that he just left arsenal just not longer than few days back and then all these is coming up makes this really bad but then, from the statement that is coming from his lawyer and considering that the rape case is said to have happened some years ago, let's just hope that this will come and go without having a direct implication on his career. seeing Paul Pogba just coming back from his own ordeal and then seeing party facing a case that has the potential of also ruining his career is something that should be of concern to all football lovers.
apart from being a sports man, everyone ought to have a sense of discipline so cases like this don't just come out. either this is just a set up or a means to blackmail Thomas partey, there is almost a smoke before fire and that tells that there might be something in parties cupboard. if he is innocent, he certainly will be vindicated.
Lol your not getting the clearer picture, Arsenal already knew the case, they didn't just want to get involved because ordinary it will be a dent on them, however if Arsenal wanted to keep Thomas partey trust me this News wouldn't have gone to the public, they could have settled it in house. But immediately Arsenal made it clear that they were not going to get involved with Thomas partey by extending his contract, the news of the Rape case broke out, allowing partey to sort things out by himself. I just hope he will be vindicated, a lot of footballers have faced same situation, the the court proceedings and the stigma that is carried along with the player is always not easy for most footballers, because most clubs will be distancing themselves from giving him a contract, is actually a lot of baggage to carry and I pray he comes out of it.
