LMAO this news is 15 years old. To date Quantum Computing hasn't been demonstrated to break SHA-0
which came out in 1993 let alone SHA-256 which is about a billion times stronger.
SHA algorithm is a technology created by NIST government agency. The NIST is already finalizing the next version of
SHA which is designed to be quantum-resistant, which bitcoin will implement when it is released.
According to NIST they are in no hurry because QC is nowhere near able to break even the oldest versions of SHA encryption let alone the latest.
