LMAO this news is 15 years old. To date Quantum Computing hasn't been demonstrated to break SHA-0
which came out in 1993 let alone SHA-256 which is billions of times stronger.

SHA algorithm is a technology created by the NIST government agency. The NIST is already finalizing the next version of
SHA which is designed to be quantum-resistant, which bitcoin will implement when it comes outis released.

According to NIST they are in no hurry because QC is nowhere near able to break even the oldest versions of SHA encryption let alone the latest.
That is if it ever able beyond theory.
