Always better to have low expectation instead of always thinking big for Madrid. They're just signing Xabi from Leverkusen, and need time to adapt with his club. Signing a new coach pretty much the same like resetting the club from zero. They're still having a bunch of unsolved problems. They need to fix all positions.

I expected the same like you believe they may be struggle next season. They have star players, but mostly played individually without good coop.

If they don't bounce back quickly, Real Madrid will certainly struggle to achieve their goal of winning La Liga and the Champions League next season. You have rightly pointed out the problem of Real Madrid, which is defence. The crop of attackers in Real Madrid does not trave back when they lose the ball. This makes me remember Big Benz, who as a striker returns to help the midfield.

Since Mbappe and Vinicius and even Jude finds it difficult to return, the defence will be lagging and also the attack will not be very sharp. The Real Madrid midfield and defence need attention. Madrid has  a lot of stars and talented players in their squad. But even then, the team is not doing well. Madrid has made some changes to their squad this season. We thought that madrid 's defense would be stronger this season . But after the 4-0 defeat against PSG, we were wrong. Madrid's defense  is also very weak this season. And because of the weak defense,  Madrid quickly falls behind, as a result, the attacking players are not able to perform well.

If they want to win the La Liga title, they will definitely have to play  well in the matches against Barcelona. Last season , we saw that Real Madrid lost every match against Barcelona by a big margin . If the defense does not improve, Madrid will lose matches against barcelona by a big margin next season as well.

I don't if I would call it as too early in terms of drawing conclusions but I feel they really need to put in the works of they actually want to get somewhere near the likes of Barcelona who have shown that they are very fierce when it comes to the attacking like up and goal scoring, infact they were so good last season that they actually won all the El classico they played with Real Madrid last season and they it convincingly.
