It's extremely lucrative for very few people, some can earn a little side hustle with it but there are not many people who can make a career out of content creation on social media. I think it’s just that literally everybody these days feels the need to photograph or video experiences on their phones that you see so many people on handheld devices. It is not actually that good for society & mental health.
True. Sometimes the younger generation misapplies it; they don't care about the content; the important thing is that it goes viral; the most important thing is getting views, likes, and comments. They're willing to create content that's detrimental to themselves. Many content creators, just wanting to go viral, are willing to do anything, ignoring manners and ethics, even daring to appear vulgar on camera.
So, in reality, the development of the digital era is a double-edged sword. It can be beneficial for others, but it can also lead to mental health issues. So, you still need to be wise in using it. Even if you want to make money from content, create content that benefits others.
