It's extremely lucrative for very few people, some can earn a little side hustle with it but there are not many people who can make a career out of content creation on social media. I think it’s just that literally everybody these days feels the need to photograph or video experiences on their phones that you see so many people on handheld devices. It is not actually that good for society & mental health.  

True. Sometimes the younger generation misapplies it. They; they don't care about the content, as long as; the important thing is that it goes viral; the most important thing is getting views, likes, and comments. They're willing toMany of them willingly, or even intentionally, create content that's is detrimental to themselves. Many content creators today are simply driven to go viral, willing to do anything, even ignoring manners and ethics. What's most surprising is that they sometimes dare to appear vulgar in front of the camera.

So, in reality, we can say that the development of the digital era is a double-edged sword. It can be beneficial for us to earn income, but it can also cause mental health problems if misused. Therefore, we must remain wise in utilizing this technology. Even if we want to earn money from content, create content that benefits others.
