If that's the case, what would be the use-case of points earned prior to July 15th? Is there a separate contest for the said time frame? because IMO, it doesn't sound fair to say " you are already earning points for the leaderboard" only for those points to turn dust once the actual couning begins.

But thethen again, these are all speculation atm. I'm sure it'll be cleared up soon by the team, esp when we get a dedicated page or thread about the contest which includes the full terms.
