Yes, it is very common to gamble just for fun, but people are greedy to an extreme degree, people cannot control their greed, and that is why they are unable to control themselves, gambling requires self-control, and to control yourself, you must first change your mindset, when you can stop yourself at the right time, and be satisfied with any outcome, only then will gambling be controllable, but if you decide with your emotions, it will undoubtedly be a disastrous decision.
Of course, people are greedy—and it’s precisely this feeling that the gambling industry is built upon. If people approached money rationally and thoughtfully, they would never feel an overwhelming urge to get it for free. In that case, casinos—designed to harness and channel these emotions into a business model—simply wouldn’t exist.
Come to think of it, if people were rational thinkers as regards money making and gambling I doubt if casinos would have been a lucrative business. Each passing day we lie to ourselves that we gamble for fun but in real sense we are driven by our greed and immaturity to emotional control and receptiveness to losses.
Most times I ask myself if people's mindset can really get changed as regards how the go about gambling, considering how greed has eaten so deep into gamblers due to many factors; some economic, others family and a few peer pressure, I sincerely doubt the possibility of mastering emotional control will be perfected by gamblers.
