Outside fixing the bug I will like to suggest a customisable width attribute provided for the <tr> and <td> tags respectively so users can define width for themselves. I believe custom designs will help bring in better flexibility and walk around even if we encounter bugs In the future. A border and padding attributes won't be a bad idea also, it will make customisation more easier and fun.
