This new Brazil crypto tax 2025 applies across the board — whether your assets are held on local or offshore exchanges, in self-custody wallets or even across decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or staking platforms.

Does that mean that it also applies to crypto that appreciates without being converted to fiat? That is if someone holds 1 BTC and BTC appreciates from $100,000 to $110,000, then the holder will have to pay (110,000110000 -$100,000100000)*0.175 = 1,7501750  USD as taxes?
