We saw it against Barcelona and Arsenal and most recently, against PSG.
Until they fix the problem of pressing, ball retention and quick passing, they will struggle against any good team. The kind of football Xabi Alonso wants to play requires these qualities, and without them, they won't play well.

Real Madrid has always been a well-organized team, so Xabi Alonso doesn't have to work as hard as a good manager does to organize the team after taking charge of other teams. However, we have seen a lack of consistency in this team this season, and that may be for a specific reason. The club management never thought that so many important players would be injured for such a long time. The current team is in this state mainly because of injury problems. I'm actually kind of surprised at real Madrid this days I don't just understand their partan of play normally real Madrid is a team that is known for scoring but during this FIFA club world cup I have seen none of that rather being humiliated by teams we don't expect, yes their defense is kinda bad but that doesn't give enough reason for them to be as worst as they are now, I feared xavi can manage this team because he hasn't shown working that will give us that strong feelings that real Madrid will get back to their normal form, and counting Rodrigo out of his plan is actually something I don't understand, the season will soon start let's just wait and see their next move or we can equally watch them to be another version of Manchester United in Spain.
