Mateo Retegui is leaving Atalanta to play for Al Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia for a fee of €67 million, another record transfer for Atalanta. Mateo, on the other hand, will earn €20 million per season.
It's become impossible to compete with the Arab teams. Unfortunately, they have incredible spending power, and no Italian team, nor even a European one, I believe, can compete with them.

Retegui was still young in fact. Only 26 years old. Why did he want to leave so soon? Huh

Especially after having a wonderful season and qualifying for the CL...

Yeah, money talks I know. But is it really worth risking the rest of your career? I believe he could have signed for a bigger European club. But if he stays there for a long term then I don't think it'll ever happen.
