This high tariff will only be lifted if my country makes a large investment in America.
He is literally asking for ransom! He basically wants to take your country's economy and its people's livelihood as hostages and claims he'll release them if you pay. Like all hostage situations, you don't even know if he'll release the hostages even if you pay him. These days more of the world is realizing the Emperor is naked though... Which is why BRICS and others are growing fast
They (the US) already have Chevron, ExxonMobil, Freeport, and Newmont, who have been extracting my country's resources for decades without any major return to the country's economy. Yet they still want more from my country... it's like they are trying to extort more by using their power. It's a clear abuse of power against developing countries.
And not only that, until now they have also sent proposals to use my country's military bases to maintain the stability of the Southeast Asian region. Even now they continue to increase co-operation exercises, but the funny thing is that when my country wants to buy fighter aircraft from Russia, they come up with new sanctions threats if the agreement is still carried out. They offered a solution to cancel the sanctions only if my country buys F-15EX & Rafale.
So by looking at this fact, it is clear that this is not just a threat anymore, but America really wants to intervene in my country's economy, politics, and military. So my country's decision to become a full member of BRICS was right because the threat from America was obvious.
