It’s harsh considering that Philippines gets huge tax on gambling while this senator that typically corrupting the country funds through their confidential funds and budget are the one that drain the country money without any result that will help the public.

Senators is dumb enough to ban this and cut huge taxes which is same when they ban POGO instead of regulating it properly.

Doing this will result for more illegal gambling.

This won’t get banned, for sure. They’ve already seen how much tax revenue they can collect from it. Even if a few senators push for a ban on online gambling, the president might not support it.

We just have to accept that gambling has become widespread and it’s part of today’s entertainment culture. So instead of pushing for an outright ban, they should be more open-minded. Focus on proper regulation. That way, it’s a win-win: gambling addiction can be minimized, and the government still gets steady tax income.
Of course, almost everything is good and everyone is happy that they receive large taxes, business is flourishing and making large profits. But in fact, in the long term, there is an extreme here. These are the players themselves, who have an ordinary life and who need to feed their families, but instead they lose their salary and they do not want anything else. Gradually, this can affect the birth rate in the country, it will decrease, because often women seeing an addicted player will not get involved with him and even if he does not tell you about it, it will be clear that he has absolutely no money for anything except food.
