Agents always wants the best for their players financially, they only think about the money side and that is their job so it makes sense. However, football isn't just about money and it isn't about your future income, sometimes it is about loyalty and sometimes it is about the wins.

If you are going to go to some Saudi league and make 200 million a year, then yeah financially that makes more sense, play there for 3 years and come back and you will have more money than you ever dreamed of, and then you can chase success later on. An agent needs to tell the player to do this, because that is what he is hired to do. It is the footballers job to tell the agent no, because if he wants to stay then he can stay, doesn't mean agent is doing something wrong.

Maybe that's one of the objectives or perhaps I should say best objective. Players now want money before fame but back then it was reverse when every player always dream of playing in their favorite clubs. You see clubs spending millions to get players and to make it worse, Saudi Arabia has made it even worse on the money they splash on players, it's like over rewarding players because you want them and at the end of the day, you will have zero performance on your team.

A good agent will consider the future of their players, if you should allow a club sign a player for a very long term with huge amount of money, most often the player is stuck in the system, they don't know anything about there future and even if they decide to put more effort on their career, if teams don't trigger their release clause, they become stuck forever. The player have his career at stake even if the money is coming to their pocket every week.
