In gambling, I believe everyone engaging in it wants to win, so I don't think anyone would like to lose their money on purpose, at least I will not want to do that to myself. You're very correct. I don't think there's anyone who'd wanna just lose his money on purpose to Gambling. It can be exciting to bet on underdog teams, especially when you feel they've got a good shot judging from their past performances. Yeah, it can equally be quite a risk because the dominant team sometimes can break all odds and unexpectedly come on top of the game, I mean that's what we see all the time in sports.

If you ask me, I'd say it'll be a much better option to bet on the dominant team too, I mean, the odds are actually in their favour and you'll likely come out ahead with that option.
