"It's good to learn from others, so you don't have to learn expensive lessons yourself"
That’s the ideal way, but not everyone can do that.
When I was a kid I saw how my father drive car, knew where are break, acceleration. I though I knew how to drive, took keys, turned ignition and smashed in parked in front car, because my car was manual and left in gear. In ideal world that would not have happened and I would have learned how to drive by watching others do.
I follow an idea that everyone must have their own experience, whether it was difficult, expensive, painful to learn it. This goes from topic to topic actually. People without experience teach others how to raise kids. People who barely gamble teach that gambling is addictive. People who trade once a year (selling BTC that they held for years) teach how to analyse market and trade. To be safe from doing stupid bets in gambling, person must first make them, realize they were stupid and make a conclusion.
