Just look at the dominance chart and zoom out fully. That little dip at the end should be the start of "altcoin season", but also notice the decreasing volatility, which shows some kind of increasing stability of Bitcoin market share. When you consider the growing number of Shitcoins, Bitcoin is doing better over time.
It may be the current cycle when this wet dream called "Altcoin season" will break.(EDIT: I mean better against any single Shitcoin, like ETH. It's a simple calculation.)

I don't think so, honestly, but i wouldn't be surprised.
Altoin trading is quite living off swings in the dominance, but if those get too low, it becomes what it always was: a big gamble.
